Presenter: Kayleigh Smith, In-Situ and Geraint Williams, ALS

Kayleigh Smith is an In-Situ Sales Manager for the UK and Scotland and has worked in the industry for more than 16 years, selling, using and supporting equipment for groundwater and surface water monitoring and sampling. Her no-nonsense approach and expert advice have led to working relationships with some of the environmental sector’s biggest names.

Kayleigh trained at the Nielsen Environmental Field School in New Mexico where she became a Groundwater Monitoring Specialist. She is a member of IAH and has presented at WWEM, Contamination Expo, SWIG and CIRIA. She has also appeared on BBC News as an Independent Water Monitoring expert and is the curator/host of Thursday Focus Group, a bi weekly focus group on leading environmental topics.

Geraint Williams is an Associate at ALS’s laboratory in Hawarden, acting as technical lead. He has more than 22 years of experience in a wide range of UK projects including the investigation and assessment of sites under planning and Part 2A. He was a technical expert in the United Nation’s environmental assessments in Nigeria and has been involved in similar projects in Cote d’Ivoire, Iraq and many other countries throughout the world.

Geraint has a keen interest in promoting best practice and serves on the Contaminated Land Working Group of the Association of Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Specialists (AGS) and the Executive Committee of the Society of Brownfield Risk Assessment (SoBRA), where he is also a member of the Technical Panel and Vapour Intrusion subgroups. In addition, Geraint serves on EH/4, British Standard’s technical committee on soil quality.
