The In-Situ Rugged Buoy is a reliable, cost-effective monitoring platform for long-term deployments of instrumentation and telemetry in pond, lake, bay, river and coastal near-shore environments. Saltwater-resistant construction and UV-resistant materials stand up to the harshest conditions, while self-righting features protect deployed equipment and ensure continuous data collection.

With an adjustable deployment depth of .3 m-1 m in two-inches increments, users can customize their deployment depth and collect data at multiple depths with a single platform. The adjustable-depth well is load bearing so an anchor system can be attached to the lowest point on the buoy. Monitor at even greater depths by hanging instruments from the mooring line and connecting a cable to the telemetry device in the buoy.

The Rugged Buoy comes fully assembled and is ready to be deployed out of the box and is easy to transport and deploy. The foam-filled float is faceted to prevent the buoy from rolling in transit or when stored on its side. At just 35 pounds, the buoy meets size and weight limitations for standard shipping rates, and a convenient shoulder strap makes it easy for a single technician to load, lift, lower and retrieve the unit.
